Washington County’s Emergency 911 Dispatch Center will be soon be without its top two managers.

Both the E911 Director, Robyn Hood, and the E911 Operations Manager, Shannon Selden, have submitted their resignations effective November 1st

The Washington County Commissioners Court held an emergency meeting last Friday to discuss the resignations and to hear certain personnel claims that have been made.

Following an executive session, the commissioners voted to move forward with an investigation of the accusations and claims that have been made in the County’s Emergency 911 Department.

Judge John Durrenberger is out of the office for the next two weeks, so KWHI asked Commissioner Kirk Hanath who would be leading the investigation.  Hanath said it will be either the County’s own Human Resource Department, or the HR Department of the Texas Association of County Governments.

Hanath also said the Commissioners will be reviewing their options on hiring an interim person to oversee E911 Operations after Hood and Selden depart on November 1st.  Hood has been the Director since February of 2022, and Selden has over ten years of employment with the County.
