GRIMES COUNTY STABBING SUSPECT ARREST IN CORPUS CHRISTI
A suspect wanted in connection with a pair of stabbings in Grimes County was arrested earlier this (Monday) morning in Corpus Christi.
The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Shiro Grocery Store on Highway 30 at 6:30pm last (Sunday) night for a report of a man with a machete, who had attacked two or more victims.
Upon arriving at the scene, Deputies discovered a male and a female victim in an RV with severe lacerations, and immediately began lifesaving measures.
AirMed was summoned to the location, and transported the victims to Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston.
The Sheriff’s Office said that they were listed in stable condition.
The suspect was identified as Elipidio De Leon Gonzalez of Shiro. Gonzalez fled the scene.
With the assistance of the Refugio County Sheriff’s Office, the Refugio Police Department, and the Texas DPS Criminal Investigations Division, Gonzalez was arrested shortly after 1am in Corpus Christi.
He has been charged with two second-degree felony counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
