TWO BLINN VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS EARN ALL-AMERICAN HONORS
Two members of the Blinn Buccaneer Volleyball Team have been recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association with All-American status.
Kellen Dorotik, a sophomore from East Bernard High School, received First Team All-American status for the second straight season. This past season, she lead the Buccaneers with 658 kills. That number was also good for second best in the nation.
In addition to that, Dorotik led the nation by averaging 4.70 kills per set, and earlier this season, she set a new Blinn College school record with 1,180 career kills.
Dorotik is going to be continuing her playing career next season at Rice University.
MaKenna Loo, a freshman from Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, received Second Team All-American status.
During her first season with Blinn, Loo was second on the team with 481 kills. That number was good for fifth in the nation.
On the defensive side, she was third on the team with 402 digs.
The Buccaneer Volleyball Team finished the 2024 season with a 38-4 record, and made it to the National Championship Tournament for the fifth straight year.
