CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR AT BRENHAM-AREA EVENTS
Many places around the area will welcome in 2025 with New Year’s celebrations tonight (Tuesday).
The Brenham Fire Department will host a dance at the Fireman’s Training Center, 1101 Highway 290 West, with doors opening at 7 p.m. Liberty Hill will provide entertainment starting at 8 p.m. A midnight meal of sausage, black-eyed peas and cabbage will be served, and light snacks will be available. A cash bar will be open, and set-ups can be purchased. Tickets are $25 per person and are available at the Brenham Fire Department, Dan’s Meat Market, Robert’s Service Station and K&M Grocery.
The Brenham Elks Lodge at 400 East Germania Street will have a dance with Lightning Ben & The Thunder starting at 8 p.m. Breakfast will be served at midnight. Pre-sale tickets are $25 individually or $40 per couple. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
Harmonie Hall in Shelby, located at 509 FM 389 West, will open at 7 p.m. for music from the Risky Liver Band from 8 p.m. to midnight. Black-eyed peas will be served at midnight. A cash bar with set-ups will be available. Guests can bring snacks in, but not outside drinks. Tickets are $20 cash at the door.
The Round Top Rifle Association Hall, 710 FM 1457, will have entertainment from the Lost Cause Band. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the music begins at 8 p.m. Cornbread and black-eyed peas will be served at midnight. Tickets are $20 and can be bought at Round Top Mercantile or Round Top State Bank.
The Snook Extension Education Association will host a scholarship dance at the Snook SPJST Hall, 457 County Road 269. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and music will be provided by the Edward Kopecky Fun Time Czech Band. Cornbread and black-eyed peas will be served, and there will be prize drawings. The event is BYOB, and set-ups will be available. Admission is $20, and more information on tickets can be obtained by calling 979-406-0811, 210-244-3362 or 979-676-2619.
The Diamond I Venue in Dime Box, 1081 County Road 425, will have music from Kenny Orts and No Chance starting at 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. There will be a buffet, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance by calling 979-540-8810.
