LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS NOT EXPECTING CHANGES TO SCHOOL OPERATIONS FOR THURSDAY, FRIDAY

Local school districts say they are keeping an eye on the weather but are still planning for business as usual tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday.

Brenham and Bellville ISDs posted notices this (Wednesday) afternoon on social media, saying they are routinely checking the forecast and staying connected to emergency management services and districts in the area.

The districts say while it will be cold and wet, they are not expecting any frozen precipitation, so students and staff should be able to get to and from school safely.

Similarly, Burton ISD Superintendent Vikki Curry told KWHI that the district will continue to monitor conditions and will update families if anything changes, but as of right now, there are no plans to change school operations for the next two days.

Tomorrow’s forecast calls for a strong chance of rain, but temperatures are projected to remain above freezing until late Friday.
