TxDOT OPEN HOUSE THURSDAY FOR PROPOSED HIGHWAY 290 CROSSOVER CHANGES

A TxDOT open house is set for tomorrow (Thursday) to give the public an opportunity to learn about plans to redesign various crossovers along Highway 290, between Blue Bell Road in Brenham and FM 2447 in Chappell Hill.

The open house will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department Community Hall.  Visitors will be able to come and go to review project information, ask questions and provide feedback on the proposed design.

Per the meeting notice, the TxDOT – Bryan District is working in collaboration with Washington County leaders to develop the plans.  They include reconfiguring existing crossovers to Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) intersections at selected locations and closing other crossovers in order to improve safety and traffic flow along the corridor.

No additional right-of-way is proposed for the project.

Public comments can be submitted in person at the meeting, or they can be submitted by email to BRY_PublicComment@txdot.gov or by mail to the TxDOT – Bryan District Office, 2591 North Earl Rudder Freeway, Attn: Sydney Fox.  All comments must be received by Friday, February 14th.
