#25 BLINN WOMEN DROP ONE TO TYLER ON THE ROAD 64-51
Story by Joe Alberico, Blinn College Sports Information
The 25th-ranked Blinn College women's basketball team dropped a Region XIV tilt on the road at Tyler Junior College on Saturday in Tyler, Texas.
The Apaches prevailed 64-51.
The Buccaneers fell to 17-5 overall and 5-2 in region play.
"We grinded hard defensively and kept it close for most of the game, but Tyler finally went on a run in the fourth quarter," Blinn head coach Jeff Jenkins said. "As a coach, I have to do a better job of getting my team into positions to score."
The Bucs trailed 19-11 after the opening period and 31-22 by halftime, but fought back into the game in the third quarter to make it a 39-31 ballgame.
The Apaches out-scored Blinn 25-18 in the fourth period to pull away for good.
Sophomore guard Jonesha Neal tallied a team-high 12 points for the Bucs.
Blinn's season continues with a non-region home matchup against Western Gulf College at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the Kruse Center in Brenham.
