SENIORS LEAD CUBS TO DOMINATING 66-47 WIN OVER COLLEGE STATION

The Brenham Cub Basketball Team sent their seniors off in style with a 66-47 victory over College Station in their final game on their home court at the Brenham High School Gym.

It was Seniors Night at the gym, and two of their seniors, Elijah Ferguson and Issac Powell, had big nights to lead the way.

Ferguson finished with a game high 28 points, while Powell also finished with a 20 point night.

Brenham outscored College Station 20-15 in the first quarter to get things started on a good note. The Cubs then took the second quarter as well, 13-10, which gave them a 33-25 lead at halftime.

Brenham then blew the game open in the third quarter by outscoring the Cougars 21-8. That gave them a 54-33 lead going into the final eight minutes of play.

The fourth quarter would be the only quarter that College Station would have more points. They outscored Brenham 14-12.

With the victory, the Cubs are now 25-8 on the season and 11-1 in district having clinched the championship this past Tuesday. They now get ready for the playoffs.

Because of the uneven number of teams in the district, Brenham has a bye this coming Tuesday night, while the remainder of teams will finish out their respective seasons.

So the Cubs won't play again until February 17 or 18.
