BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS VISIT KWHI/KTEX FOR WORLD RADIO DAY

Brenham ISD students visited the KWHI and KTEX-106 studios today (Thursday) in celebration of World Radio Day.

Students from Brenham High School’s audiovisual class took a tour of the two stations to learn about how the stations run.  They got to see how programs and commercials are produced and even joined Eilish and Cowboy Dave on the KTEX morning show, as well as Craig Montana on the KWHI Country Store.

Damon Kyzar, a senior, says it was great to peek behind the scenes and see the process behind what goes out over the air.

Ethan Marshall, also a senior, says this experience will benefit him as he takes the first steps of his career.

Emma Wood, a sophomore, says she enjoyed being part of a live interview, as she is interested in potentially becoming a reporter.

Robert Wiser, who leads the audiovisual production class, says today provided a valuable look at how the media industry operates.

KWHI and KTEX-106 thank Brenham ISD for stopping by and for joining in the celebration of World Radio Day, putting a spotlight on the impact radio stations can have on their communities.
