SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES TWO WARRANT ARRESTS, ONE FOR PUBLIC INTOXICATION
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported three arrests this weekend.
A few minutes after 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Corporal Solis conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of San Marcos Street. The driver, identified as 58-year-old Ronnie Lee Mathis Sr. of Burton, was found to have a local warrant and was taken into custody. Mathis was transported to the Washington County Jail for his warrant, Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member.
Around 1 p.m. Sunday, Deputies Catchings and Pena responded to a welfare concern at Spring Creek Road and Highway 36. Upon arrival, deputies found a male subject sleeping in the back seat of his vehicle. The sheriff’s office reported that the subject, identified as 30-year-old Joshua Charles Robinson of Austin, appeared to be under the influence. Robinson was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to the Washington County Jail without incident.
Nearing 9 p.m., Corporal Crosby initiated a traffic stop in the 1000 block of South Market Street for an equipment violation. The driver, 19-year-old Adrian Moreno of Sealy, was found to have an active warrant in Austin County for Failure to Appear – Criminal Mischief. Moreno was taken into custody and booked in at the Washington County Jail.
