BLINN BOARD HOLDS TUITION & FEES STEADY FOR FALL 2025

Blinn College will maintain its current tuition and fee rates for the fall 2025 semester.

The Blinn Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted to set tuition at $64 per semester credit hour for students within Blinn’s taxing district, which includes only Washington County; $123 per semester credit hour for out-of-district Texas residents; and $279 per semester credit hour for out-of-state students.  Trustees also held the general fee steady at $80 per semester credit hour and are keeping the same rates for student housing, food services, and all course, lab, and auxiliary fees.

Executive Vice Chancellor Leighton Schubert explained that the Texas House of Representatives is in budget debates this week, and Blinn is planning for the state to ask community colleges to freeze their tuition and fees.  He said the College is only looking at fall 2025 rates for now, so that it can evaluate rates for spring 2026 after the legislative session concludes.

Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance Dr. Clen Burton said the College is anticipating an additional $5.3 million in unbudgeted 2025 revenue, coming from extra state funding for co-enrollment and increased interest.

In other business on Tuesday, the board authorized College administrators to negotiate and execute contracts for construction manager at risk services for an academic building at the Waller/Harris County Campus and the Brenham Campus Sports Complex.

Plans for the sports complex include a practice football field with artificial turf, competition soccer and softball fields, a putting/chipping green, and a 27,000-square-foot field house containing sports offices, locker rooms, and training facilities.

The campus site in Waller, to be located on 100 acres at 29638 FM 2920, will serve as a commuter campus and Blinn’s sixth campus in total.

The board also authorized the negotiation and execution of guaranteed maximum price contracts for central plant upgrades on the Brenham Campus and roof replacements at Buildings 5 and 6 of the Blinn College Park Apartments in Brenham.  Additionally, it approved a contract for general contractor services for interior finish upgrades at Buildings F and H on the Bryan Campus.
