BURTON SOFTBALL FINISHES DISTRICT UNBEATEN AFTER 5-1 WIN OVER SNOOK
The Burton Lady Panther Softball Team finished their 2025 District 26-2A Championship run undefeated after beating Snook 5-1 on Tuesday night.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when Burton finally got on the board. Natalie Hodde reached on a single to start the frame, and later came around to score on an RBI double by Paige Fritsch to make it 1-0.
In the fifth inning, Burton added to their lead with a pair of runs. Reagan Roemer reached on an error. Kelsie Hohlt was then brought in as a courtesy runner. Natalie Hodde also reached on an error, which allowed Hohlt to score to make it 2-0 Lady Panthers. After Hodde got caught trying to steal second, Amaya Williams followed with a solo homer, her sixth of the season. That gave Burton a 3-0 advantage.
Snook put one run on the board in the top of the sixth to Lady Panthers lead to 3-1. However, Burton added two more runs in the bottom of the inning. Bailey Glaesmann and Laci Broesche drew a pair of walks. Aerynn Huntsman laid down a sacrifice bunt to move the runners over. Abigail Dowling was brought in to run for Glaesmann. Jennifer Lopez hit a two-run single to score Dowling and Broesche to increase Burton's lead to 5-1.
Glaesmann went the distance in the circle and struck out 12 in route to her 13th win of the season.
It was also Senior Night last night. Burton honored the outgoing seniors for the Lady Panthers: Bailey Glaesmann, Reagan Roemer, Jennifer Lopez, and Kelsie Hohlt.
