OVER 270 PARTICIPATE ON FIRST DAY OF EARLY VOTING
Early voting kicked off on Tuesday with over 270 people coming out to cast their ballot in the May 3rd elections.
Washington County Elections Administrator Carol Jackson reports 273 voters came to the Washington County Courthouse Annex.
That total includes 267 votes for the Brenham ISD trustee election, 136 for the City of Brenham council and charter amendment elections, 61 for the proposed emergency services district for the Chappell Hill and Meyersville Volunteer Fire Departments, and six for the City of Burton council race.
Breaking down the City of Brenham, the most voters came from Ward 3, at 48. That was followed by 47 voters from Ward 1, 25 from Ward 4 and 16 from Ward 2.
Early voting continues through Tuesday, April 29th at the courthouse annex, with hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each weekday. No voting will be available over the weekend.
