OVER 560 PARTICIPANTS AFTER TWO DAYS OF EARLY VOTING
Turnout grew on the second day of early voting for the May 3rd elections.
According to Washington County Elections Administrator Carol Jackson, 290 people voted on Wednesday, up from 273 on Tuesday. So far, 563 people have cast ballots.
Of the 290 voters, 281 participated in the Brenham ISD trustee election, 125 in the City of Brenham council and charter amendment elections, 75 in the emergency services district election for the Chappell Hill and Meyersville Volunteer Fire Departments, and nine in the Burton City Council election.
Wednesday’s total for the City of Brenham included 65 voters from Ward 3, 25 from Ward 4, 23 from Ward 1 and 12 from Ward 2.
Early voting continues at the Washington County Courthouse Annex through Tuesday, though there will not be voting over the weekend. Daily hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
