LIGHT AGENDA THURSDAY FOR BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL

The Brenham City Council figures to have a brief meeting on Thursday, its final one before Saturday’s city council election.

The only action item on the regular session agenda is a resolution to authorize the acceptance of public infrastructure improvements for the fourth phase of the Timber Oaks subdivision, southwest of the intersection of Old Mill Creek Road and Oak Tree Crossing Drive.

The city’s recommended infrastructure acceptance is right-of-way paving for a cul-de-sac.  It was created after a transition from a “T” intersection that was originally designed to allow for street extension into additional phases of the subdivision, but property that was once planned for that was sold to Blinn College for a sports complex.

The public infrastructure improvements, valued at approximately $70,320, have already been constructed and inspected.

The routine consent agenda includes the second vote on revisions to city code for new restrictions on smoke and vape shops, as well as a yearly item with TxDOT relating to street closures along state right-of-way in downtown for the Hot Nights, Cool Tunes concert series in July.

The council will meet Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brenham City Hall.
