BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS SATURDAY TO SMOLDERING MULCH PILES, FIRE ALARMS

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Saturday.

At 5:15 p.m., the department was called out to the 2600 block of FM 50 for a fire investigation.  Members of the Brenham Fire Department and Meyersville Volunteer Fire Department extinguished multiple mulch piles that were smoldering.  Once the smoldering piles were no longer a threat, all units returned to service.

Brenham firefighters also responded at 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. to the 600 block of Prairie Lea Street for a fire alarm.  Both times, personnel found that construction was being carried out in the laundry room, causing the detector to activate.  They reset the alarm and returned to the station.
