The City of Brenham has appointed a new assistant city manager.
The city on Tuesday announced the appointment of Megan Mainer to the position, effective the same date.
Mainer has over 15 years of municipal leadership experience, most recently as the director of parks and recreation for the City of Angleton. She has also served as recreation superintendent for the City of La Porte, recreation center supervisor and facility assistant for the City of Lake Jackson, and recreation assistant for the City of Huntsville.
A release from the City of Brenham says Mainer has “demonstrated a strong commitment to community engagement, strategic planning, capital improvement, and project management.” It says, “Her collaborative approach and innovative thinking have earned her recognition among her peers and the communities she has served.”
Brenham City Manager Carolyn Miller says the city is excited to welcome Mainer to its leadership team, adding, “Her extensive experience in municipal operations and her dedication to public service align perfectly with our City's goals and values."
As assistant city manager, Mainer will oversee various city departments. She holds certifications in public management and is an active member of the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS), where she has served in leadership roles.
Mainer says, “Brenham is a special community with a strong sense of pride and connection. I'm looking forward to building partnerships, supporting staff, and contributing to the City's continued progress and success.”
