DAILY, OVERNIGHT LANE CLOSURES BEGINNING SUNDAY ON HIGHWAY 290 FROM GUN AND ROD ROAD TO INDIAN PAINT BRUSH ROAD
TxDOT will resume a mill and inlay project this weekend on a portion of Highway 290 on the east side of Brenham.
Beginning on Sunday, TxDOT will have daily, overnight lane closures on Highway 290 from Gun and Rod Road to Indian Paint Brush Road. Work will be conducted between the hours of 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., with traffic being reduced to one lane in each direction.
Bob Colwell, Public Information Officer for TxDOT’s Bryan District, said the project started earlier this month but had to be pushed back due to weather and equipment issues. He said work will take place Sunday nights through Thursday nights, with no work on Fridays and Saturdays.
Drivers are advised to watch for traffic control messages and are asked for patience while driving through the area.
The project is contracted to Cornerstone Paving and Construction for $1.3 million and is expected to be finished by the end of this summer.
