The Royal ISD Board of Trustees named Dr. Pape as the lone finalist last week.  She has served as Snook ISD’s superintendent since June 2022 and will be officially hired in Royal ISD after a 21-day waiting period.

Dr. Pape said she is “incredibly grateful” for this opportunity to serve Royal and help lead it into the future.  She said, “The progress we have made in Snook ISD over the past three years was possible because of the incredible people and shared vision we had for students.  I look forward to bringing that same energy, commitment, and love for public education to Royal ISD!”

Previous roles for Dr. Pape prior to Snook ISD included positions as the Director of Inclusive Learning and Innovation at Bellville ISD, the Assistant Director of Special Education in Bryan ISD, an educational diagnostician at Cypress-Fairbanks and Burton ISDs, and an elementary teacher at Brenham ISD.

The Snook ISD Board of Trustees shared a message on social media thanking Dr. Pape for her “dedicated service and steadfast leadership”, adding, “Her commitment to our district’s goals, the success of our students, and community partnerships have left a lasting impact on our school.”

The Snook School Board intends to meet next month to interview candidates to serve as interim superintendent.  The school district has been exploring the possibility of calling a bond election this fall in response to rapidly rising student enrollment, but the board plans to put those discussions on hold for now.
