WARRANT OPERATION LEADS TO BRENHAM MAN’S ARREST ON CHARGES INCLUDING AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, DEADLY CONDUCT
A multi-agency operation led to the arrest of a Brenham man on Tuesday on multiple charges and the seizure of numerous firearms.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 5:45 a.m., deputies executed search and arrest warrants in the 11000 block of Herrmann Lane. According to the sheriff’s office, 53-year-old Kevin Wayne Lampe of Brenham, who had several active warrants, fled the location prior to officers’ arrival, but was taken into custody when he returned shortly after 11:15 a.m.
Lampe was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Mischief $2,500 - $30,000, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Deadly Conduct – Discharge of a Firearm.
In addition to the arrest, deputies seized 23 firearms and a large quantity of various types of ammunition from Lampe’s residence.
Assisting Washington County deputies were the Brenham Police Department, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office also reported a separate arrest on Wednesday. Close to 8:45 p.m., Deputy Martinez initiated a traffic stop for an equipment violation in the 9900 block of Highway 290 West. Upon making contact, the deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana, which was later located during a search of the vehicle. The driver, 34-year-old Alexis Jamie Espinoza of Jarrell, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and taken to the Washington County Jail.
