BRENHAM POLICE MAKE ARRESTS FOR THREAT & ASSAULT, IMMIGRATION WARRANT
Brenham police arrested two people on Wednesday, one on threat and assault charges and another on an immigration warrant.
Shortly after 7:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Ewing Street regarding a welfare concern. Police say their investigation revealed that an individual identified as 40-year-old Rafael Sandoval of Brenham had allegedly assaulted and threatened a family member. Sandoval was placed into custody and taken to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked in for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member and Terroristic Threat of a Family/Household Member.
Nearing 4:45 p.m. Officer Garrett Downs responded to the 500 block of West Blue Bell Road in reference to a crash. Upon investigation, police discovered that the driver of one of the vehicles, 26-year-old Ivania Melgar Menjivar of Brenham, had an Immigration and Customs Enforcement warrant for her arrest. Menjivar was placed into custody for the warrant and for No Driver’s License. She was transported to the Washington County Jail.
