BRENHAM CUBS PREDICTED TO BE TOP OFFENSE IN BRAZOS VALLEY
In a recent ranking by The Eagle's Andrew Tineo, the Brenham Cubs were named the top high school football offense heading into the 2025 season and for good reason. After an impressive 11-2 campaign last year, the Cubs return nine offensive starters and boast a roster loaded with proven playmakers.
Leading the charge is junior running back JaKoby Dixon, the reigning District 10-5A Player of the Year. Dixon is projected by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football to repeat that honor after an explosive 2024 season in which he rushed for 2,248 yards and 32 touchdowns, adding 22 receptions for 270 yards and two more scores through the air.
Dixon will once again run behind a dominant offensive line anchored by senior Andre Mojica, who earned the title of District 10-5A’s top lineman in 2024. While the starting quarterback position remains undecided, the Cubs’ receiving corps is anything but uncertain.
Brenham returns its top four receivers from last season, led by seniors Chris Guidry, Xyran Upshaw, and Cartelle Brown. Guidry earned first-team all-district honors in 2024 after posting 41 catches for 848 yards and 11 touchdowns. Upshaw and Brown also made significant contributions and were named to the all-district second team.
With this much talent and experience returning, the Cubs’ offense is primed to be one of the most dangerous in the state.
