Engineers.

Whitehead was presented today (Wednesday) with the Stephen H. Schott Excellence in Engineering Award.  The award was handed out during a Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) Chapter meeting at the KWHI/KTEX offices in downtown Brenham.

Steve Sandlin, who along with Whitehead is a member of the Bryan / College Station chapter of the SBE, said the award goes to individuals who demonstrate leadership and strong work ethic while advancing the broadcast industry.

Family members and other broadcast engineers in Texas were on hand to celebrate Whitehead’s achievement.  A formal award presentation will take place at an SBE dinner on August 6th at Salt Lick BBQ in Round Rock, bringing together hundreds of TV and radio engineers from across the state.

Whitehead retired in December after 39 years of service to Radio Central.
