SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES WARRANT ARRESTS, ISSUES CITATIONS FOR LOOSE LIVESTOCK
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported three arrests between Monday and Tuesday.
Around 3:30 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to a structure fire in the 3300 block of Harry Franklin Lane. A male subject identified at the scene was found to have an active warrant and was taken into custody. 18-year-old Elijah Jamaar Green of Washington was transported to the Washington County Jail for Motion to Revoke Probation – Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 1-4 Grams.
Approaching noon on Tuesday, Corporal Zavala conducted a traffic stop for speeding at FM 50 and Airport Road. The sheriff’s office says the driver, 38-year-old Markus Jacobey Ray of Brenham, did not have a valid driver’s license and had several active warrants. Ray was taken to the Washington County Jail and booked in for Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information 5-10 Items of the Elderly, Driving While License Invalid Enhanced, Expired Driver’s License, two counts of Speeding, and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
Close to 10 p.m., Deputy Holmes initiated a traffic stop in the 13500 block of Highway 290 West for defective equipment. The sheriff’s office determined that the driver had a suspended license. 34-year-old Christopher Rios of Brenham was transported to the Washington County Jail for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
The sheriff’s office also issued citations on Tuesday for loose livestock. Shortly before 9 p.m., deputies responded to Highway 105 and FM 2193 concerning livestock on the road. Once they arrived on location, the owner confirmed the cattle were his. Due to the owner having recently received written warnings regarding the same cattle, he was issued twelve citations for Livestock at Large, one for each head of livestock that was out.
