MAN ACCUSED OF MAKING SHOOTING THREAT HOSPITALIZED WITH GUNSHOT WOUND

  

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man accused of making a shooting threat sustained a gunshot wound himself. 

Deputies responded at approximately 7:45 p.m. Wednesday to a disturbance in the 18000 block of Sweed Road.  According to the sheriff’s office, the caller advised that a subject had come to her residence threatening to shoot her son, but had left.

While searching the area for the suspect, deputies were notified of a weapon-involved situation in the 22800 block of FM 1155 East.  They arrived on scene to find the suspect from the original call with a gunshot wound to his right leg.

The man was transported by EMS to Baylor Scott & White in College Station.  The sheriff’s office said he was still receiving treatment as of this (Thursday) afternoon.

The incident remains under investigation with assistance from the Texas Rangers.  The sheriff’s office said no further details can be released.  No arrests have been made at this time.
