CUBETTES CAP OFF WESTWOOD SHOWCASE WITH DOMINANT STREAK, HEAD COACH MORGAN WHALEN REACHES MILESTONE VICTORY

The Brenham Cubettes closed out the Westwood Showcase in commanding fashion on Saturday, stringing together three consecutive wins to solidify a strong showing at Westwood High School. Brenham took down Waller in straight sets (2-0), then edged out both Hutto and Richardson by identical 2-1 margins to finish the event with a 5-3 showcase record and improve to 6-4 overall on the season.

Beyond the scoreboard, the weekend held added significance as head coach Megan Whalen secured her 100th career win at the helm of the Cubettes program, a milestone achieved just over three years after taking over in April 2022.

A proud Brenham native, Whalen's ties to the community and Cubettes athletics run deep. She was a key player on the 2004 Class 4A volleyball state semifinalist team and earned MVP honors on the 2005 4A State Softball Championship squad before continuing her athletic and academic journey at Texas A&M University.

Since her return to lead the volleyball program, Whalen has brought a renewed energy and a culture of excellence to the court. Under her leadership, the Cubettes have reasserted themselves as a competitive force, with her career coaching record now standing at 104-53 just ten games into the 2025-26 campaign.

With momentum building early in the season and a milestone behind them, the Cubettes are poised to continue climbing as they chase further success under Whalen’s guidance.
