WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO VOTE ON CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR ATS FACILITY
Washington County Commissioners will look to proceed on Tuesday with the next step of the county’s plans to build a new Archives, Technology and Services facility.
The court will consider approving a construction contract with Chappell Hill Construction, who was named earlier this month as the project’s highest-ranking offeror. It will then vote on authorizing PlanNorth LLC to execute the notice to proceed with Chappell Hill Construction for the project.
The county plans to convert the site of the old ATS Irrigation building on Highway 105 into a record storage facility.
In other business, commissioners will appoint a court member to begin negotiations with the highest-ranking offeror for the second phase of the exterior restoration project at the courthouse, based on rankings provided by an evaluation committee.
Other items on Tuesday will include:
- Monthly reports from the sheriff’s office, county and district clerks, justices of the peace, auditor, tax assessor-collector, treasurer, constables, elections and veterans service officer.
- Action on the county’s depository contract with Bank of Brenham/Cadence Bank.
- Approval of the 2025 Washington County Fair trail ride right-of-way permit application.
- Consideration of a modified bond requirement for judges in statutory county courts and county courts that preside over guardianship and probate proceedings in Texas from $100,000 to $500,000.
- A vote on a subdivision variance request for a land division fronting Red Tip Lane, consisting of 3.97 acres in Precinct 3.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
