LADY PANTHERS EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO SEVEN
The Burton Lady Panther Volleyball Team extended their winning streak to seven games with three more wins yesterday (Thursday) at the Rice Consolidated Tournament.
In the first game, Burton swept Navasota 25-9 and 25-11. Lexi Broesche had nine kills and nine digs. Adison Harmel finished with 21 assists.
The Lady Panthers would then defeat Lexington 2-1. Burton won the first set 25-16, Lexington took the second set 25-21, but then Burton came back to win the final set 25-21.
Laci Broesche had a triple-double with 10 kills, 14 assists, and 10 digs. Lexi Broesche had a double-double with 14 kills and 14 digs. Harmel dished out 26 assists. Paige Fritsch and Aerynn Huntsman led the defense with 16 digs each.
Burton wrapped up the day with a two-set sweep over Rice Consolidated; 25-11 and 25-8. Huntsman, Laci Broesche, and Natalie Hodde had three kills each. Harmel added another eight assists. Lexi Broesche led the defense with eight digs.
The Lady Panthers are now 18-6 on the season.
The Rice Consolidated Tournament continues today (Friday) with Burton taking on La Grange, Shiner St. Paul, and Iola.
