CUBETTES EARN WINS OVER FLORESVILLE AND BELLVILLE
The Brenham Cubette Volleyball Team earned a pair of victories in Bellville last (Tuesday) night as part of a three-team match.
In the opener, the Cubettes beat Floresville 3-1. Floresville won the first set 25-23. However, Brenham came back to take the next three sets 25-17, 25-17, and 26-24.
Antyiahna Lang led the offense with 19 kills. Hannah Bush had 12 kills on offense and 15 digs on defense. Brinley Benson dished out 24 assists and finished with 14 digs. Claire Huff added 15 assists. Zoe Zwerneman served five aces and chipped in with 16 digs. Logan Hayslip led the defense with 33 digs.
Then in the nightcap, the Cubettes defeated the Bellville Brahmanettes in three straight sets.
Brenham won the sets 27-25, 25-16, and 25-22. Lang led the team offensively with 16 kills. Brinley Benson served five aces and dished out 21 assists. The Cubettes also got 12 assists from Huff. On defense, Hayslip had 28 digs, while Bush finished with 20 digs.
Their record is now 18-10 on the season.
With the two victories, the Cubettes are now on a four-match winning streak as they get ready to host Kingwood on Friday night at 5:30pm at the Brenham High School Gym.
