SOMERVILLE CLINIC PLANNING TO RE-OPEN

Plans are underway for the re-opening of the Somerville Clinic.

The Burleson County Hospital District Board of Directors made the announcement at their meeting this past Monday that the Clinic will re-open in the fall.

The clinic will be staffed with Nurse Practitioner Rochelle Adams.

Health Point closed the Clinic back in May sighting low patient volume and difficulty finding a permanent health care provider.

Adams said that she first became aware of the closing while working at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Brenham.

According to the Burleson County Tribune, Adams will lease the Clinic from the hospital district, who owns the building, and she plans to operate it independently.

Adams is hopeful to re-open the Clinic by late November or early December. It will be open Monday thru Friday with office hours to be determined at a later date.

Services that she plans to offer include wellness checks, treating chronic illnesses, same day sickness issues, testing, Tele-Health, and referrals to specialists as needed.

Adams told the Tribune that there is a regulatory credentialing process for opening a clinic, and that she is hoping to re-open it once that process is complete.
