The voluntary association of local governments serves seven counties across the region, including Washington, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison and Robertson counties.  Durrenberger was named Chairman at BVCOG’s 58th annual meeting last week.

Durrenberger has served as Washington County Judge since January 2019 after retiring in 2017 from a decades-long career in the wholesale beer industry.

Durrenberger says he is honored to represent both the county and the region in this role.  He says, “As a region, we face both new and ongoing challenges.  By working together as ‘Team BVCOG,’ we can continue to overcome obstacles and deliver on our mission.  Above all else, we serve people.”

This past year, BVCOG carried out a wide range of initiatives across the region, including providing meals to residents in need, rental and utility assistance, work and training opportunities for job seekers, childcare services, senior transportation, managing emergency calls and delivering law enforcement training.
