BRENHAM POLICE REPORT ARRESTS FOR THEFT, DWI, MARIJUANA POSSESSION
Brenham police arrested three people on Wednesday.
At 8:45 a.m., Sergeant Tiffany Anderson and Officer Mateo Guillen responded to the 600 block of Medical Parkway regarding a crash. While collecting information for a crash report, officers detected the odor of marijuana in one of the two vehicles involved in the collision. After conducting a probable cause search, police found marijuana in the vehicle. 18-year-old Diamond Bee Simmons of Brenham was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Close to 6:45 p.m., Sergeant Jose Perez responded to the 200 block of Highway 290 West in reference to a theft in progress. Upon arrival, police say their investigation revealed that the suspect had passed the point of sale without paying for several items. 35-year-old Amanda Carpenter of Columbus was placed into custody for Theft of Property Less Than $100 and transported to the Washington County Jail for booking.
Around 8:15 p.m., Sergeant Perez conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 105 and East Academy Street. After further investigation, the driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Rachel Landers of Kingwood, was placed into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and taken to the Washington County Jail.
