In an announcement, Bullock said she has enjoyed her service to the public, but it has come with many sacrifices for herself and her family, and she wishes to refocus her time, energy and passion in ways that better serve her family.

First taking office in January 2019, Bullock stated she has cherished the opportunity to work alongside her fellow court members, elected officials, county staff, residents and other colleagues to take on shared challenges and work toward a brighter future for everyone.

Some of the projects that Bullock listed as priorities during her time on the court have been technology upgrades for various county departments, embarking on a countywide strategic planning process, salary market corrections, enhancing the EMS Department, pursuing economic development, helping the Chappell Hill Water Supply Corporation obtain over $4 million in state grant funding for the Chappell Hill water tower, and securing over $1.1 million through the Texas General Land Office to build a bridge on South Meyersville Road over New Year’s Creek.

Bullock said she intends to continue contributing to certain efforts, like water-related initiatives and supporting a voter-approved County Assistance District, which would fund public improvement projects by deriving revenue from existing sales tax, rather than property tax, in unincorporated areas of the county.  She said she has been blessed to be able to learn about the many aspects of government and plans to continue her involvement so she can share that knowledge with the community.

Bullock expressed confidence in the future of the county and encourages emerging leaders to step forward and get involved.

Bullock will serve out the remainder of her term, which concludes on January 1, 2027.
