AMANDA KLEHM ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR WASHINGTON CO. PRECINCT 2 COMMISSIONER

  

A Chappell Hill resident and co-owner of a Brenham business has announced her candidacy for Washington County Precinct 2 Commissioner.

Amanda Klehm has declared she will run in the March Republican primary election for the position currently held by Candice Bullock, who will not be running for a third term.

Klehm has been co-owner of Sew Stitches Boutique LLC for the past 14 years and has served in a variety of professional and volunteer roles in the community.  Her experience in local government operations and public administration includes service as deputy city secretary for the City of Brenham and internships at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. and the Texas Forest Service Economic Development Department.

Klehm says she is well-prepared to serve the community where she grew up and is now raising her family.  She says she is eager to bring her knowledge, experience and passion for public service to the office of county commissioner, where she pledges to provide integrity and commitment and to bring “an open mind, an open door, and professionalism.” 

Klehm holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.  She has been involved as a former board member for Washington County Little League, a graduate of the Brenham Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy, a former member of the Brenham Police Wives Association, Coordinator and Co-Founder of the Sugar Plum Market, a volunteer for Center Stage Competition Dance fundraisers, and a participant and member of Velocity Church, where she has been involved in the Women’s Bible Study. 

Additionally, Klehm is an active member of several local organizations, including the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Washington County Republican Women’s Club, Washington County Republican Club, and the Washington County A&M Club.

Amanda and her husband, Seth, have been married for 15 years and reside in Chappell Hill, where Seth currently serves as Washington County Precinct 2 Constable.  They have two children, Aiden and Tinley.
