AUSTIN CO. FAIR PARADE THURSDAY IN DOWNTOWN BELLVILLE

  

The 98th Annual Austin County Fair continues activities today (Thursday) with the parade through downtown Bellville.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. and has a theme of “Open the Gate and Hold for 8”.  The grand marshal for the parade is Carolyn Balke, a fifth-generation Austin County resident and longtime fair supporter.

All students from Austin County schools are admitted free at the fairgrounds today until 5 p.m.

Livestock shows wrap up today.  Tomorrow (Friday) is the day of the youth livestock auction at 10 a.m.  The youth supreme and country fair auction will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Tonight’s entertainment is Slade Coulter at 8 p.m. and Tucker Wetmore at 10 p.m.  Friday will have David Lewis at 8 p.m. and Braxton Keith at 10 p.m., with Saturday rounding out with Blackhawk at 9 p.m. and 38 Special at 11 p.m.

KTEX-106’s David will be broadcasting from the parade this morning, while Courtney Cartwright will introduce tonight’s bands on stage.
