town hall on September 22nd at the Margaret E.
Blizzard Senior Activity Center. A second town hall
is being held tonight at 6 p.m. at the Washington
County Expo.
Voters in Brenham ISD are encouraged to learn more about both of the propositions on the ballot at tonight’s meeting, which will be held at 6 p.m. at the Washington County Expo Event Center.
The meeting, organized by Citizens Uniting for Brenham Schools (CUBS), will include presentations from district officials and members of the district’s strategic planning committee. They will share information about the voter approval tax rate election (VATRE), which proposes a property tax increase to fund teacher and staff pay raises and operational needs, and the $39 million bond measure slated to address several high-priority capital projects on campuses.
Limited crowds were on hand during the first town hall on September 22nd.
KWHI will broadcast the town hall on AM 1280, FM 101.7 and kwhi.com and will also livestream it on the KWHI Facebook page.
Other CUBS events include a staff forum on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at Citizens State Bank, as well as scheduled meetings with community organizations. Any groups who would like to set up a meeting, or anyone who has questions about the elections, can email cubs4brenham@gmail.com.
Election Day is November 4th. Early voting runs October 20-31.
