BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO DISCUSS FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY RATING, HEAR REPORTS
The Burton School Board will go through a series of reports when it meets on Monday.
Trustees will open the meeting with a public hearing on Burton ISD’s “Superior Achievement” state financial accountability rating. That will be followed by a bond construction update, discussion on library resources, an update on changes implemented to parental rights through Senate Bill 12, and reports on special programs and Results Driven Accountability (RDA).
In action items, the board will vote on the district’s 2025-26 wellness policy, take up an agreement designating Austin County extension agents as adjunct staff members, and consider nominations for the Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors.
Trustees will then go into executive session to consult with legal counsel regarding the district’s lawsuit against DSA, Inc. and Circle H Dirt Work and Excavation, LLC, Cause No. 38478 in 21st District Court.
The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the Burton ISD Administration Office.
