BURTON ISD INVESTIGATES REPORTED STUDENT THREAT

  

Burton ISD says students and staff are safe after a report of a threat today (Wednesday) involving a student.

Superintendent Vikki Curry issued a notice this afternoon saying that the district was notified of a report concerning a high school student, who Curry said had made a statement about potentially causing harm to another student.

According to Curry, district administrators and the school resource officer acted promptly upon receiving information to investigate the situation.  It was ultimately determined that there was no immediate threat to the safety of students or staff members. 

Curry said the district has shared a letter with parents and staff regarding the incident, and that it appreciates the public’s understanding and support.
