This (Thursday) morning, the festival welcomed local and area students for the yearly Student Enrichment Day, an opportunity to meet with art professionals and gain a deeper understanding of the arts.
The festival officially opens tomorrow (Friday) and continues through Sunday, featuring live painting exhibitions, live entertainment, a juried art show, and an art village with various vendors.
Two new murals will be painted along the south wall of the Commerce Street parking lot and on the side of the Co-op on Commerce building. Additionally, art installations will be going in by Mescalito, The Laundry Event Hall and HSF Biergarten.
The mural artists this year are Candy Kuo of Austin and Stephen Henry of Brenham, with the installations by Jeremy Novy, based in San Francisco.
