ACCIDENT, GRASS FIRE AMONG FOUR CALLS MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls on Monday.

Around 1:15 p.m., firefighters were called out to the 3200 block of Terrier Hill Lane for a report of tree limbs on power lines.  They found a limb hanging from the power lines and stayed on location until the electric company arrived.

Just before 1:30 p.m., units went out to a transportation incident in the 1700 block of South Day Street.  They discovered a two-vehicle accident with no fluids leaking and provided first aid until EMS arrived to take over patient care.  Once the vehicles were moved, firefighters cleared the call.

Around 1:45 p.m., members of the Brenham Fire Department and Salem Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a grass fire at FM 389 and Tigerpoint Road.  There, personnel found a grass fire in a pasture.  They extinguished the fire and protected the house.

Close to 7:45 p.m., a fire alarm was called in from Prairie Lea Hall, 911 West Fifth Street.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, and firefighters found that the alarm went off because of burnt food in the microwave.  The alarm was reset, and the fire department returned to service.
