The Brenham Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant on Friday at a residence in the 9600 block of Old Independence Road.  Police say the warrant was the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation targeting 36-year-old Clay Walker Schumpert, whom they had identified as an alleged local marijuana distributor.

As a result of the operation, Schumpert was taken into custody without incident on an active arrest warrant for Delivery of Marijuana.

After searching the property, police reported seizing multiple types of illegal narcotics and paraphernalia, including approximately 20.8 ounces of marijuana, 43.54 grams of marijuana kief, 3 grams of THC oil and 2.3 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms.  According to police, they also found six live marijuana plants, digital scales, packaging materials, grinders and U.S. currency that was believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
