BRENHAM HERITAGE MUSEUM RAISES OVER $140,000 AT FALL GALA

The Brenham Heritage Museum traveled back to the golden age of Hollywood at its fall gala on Saturday.

Donning tuxedos and sparkling gowns, approximately 200 guests were treated to heavy hors d’oeuvres, casino games, live and silent auctions and live entertainment while raising money and awareness for the museum’s mission.

Brad Tegeler, vice-chair of the Brenham Heritage Museum’s board of directors and co-chair of the event along with Robert Flanagan, said the museum is dedicated to telling the stories of Texas from 1836 to today, and the public’s support makes it all possible.

According to Brenham Heritage Museum Interim Executive Director Ciera Harris, the gala raised around $110,000 through ticket sales and sponsorships.  Additionally, the live auction brought in $24,400, and the silent auction raised $13,066.  Harris said attendance and revenue figures are all above last year’s event totals.

Proceeds from the event go toward the continued development of new exhibits and programs, as well as ongoing maintenance.  According to Tegeler, work on the museum’s main floor is nearly complete, meaning efforts can soon shift to the basement-level exhibits.
