VOEKEL STEPS DOWN AT TEXAS A&M FOUNDATION
After nearly a decade of serving as President and CEO of the Texas A&M Foundation, Tyson Voelkel has announced his resignation.
Voelkel, who is from Brenham, will serve until December 1. The Foundation’s Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, John Huser, will serve as the interim leader in Voelkel’s absence.
According to a statement from the Texas A&M Marketing and Strategic Communications Department, Huser was chosen by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees to be the interim leader, while they conduct a search for the next President and CEO.
The Foundation issued a statement saying that they achieved new heights under Voekel’s leadership, and they wish him all the very best in his new chapter.
They added that the change does not alter their mission of building a brighter future for Texas A&M University, one relationship at a time.
Voelkel graduated from Texas A&M in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in industrial distribution. He also earned a master’s degree in international relations at the Bush School of Government and Public Service and an MBA from Rice University.
In addition to that, Voekel is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve after serving as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division where he earned Army Ranger and Airborne Qualification badges.
