BRENHAM MAN CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL TRESPASS, RESISTING ARREST

A Brenham man was booked into jail on Monday for charges of criminal trespass and resisting arrest.

Ignacio Mendosa Lara
(Washington Co. Jail)

At 2:15 p.m., Brenham Police Officer Ronnie Jackson and Sergeant Tiffany Anderson responded to the 900 block of Petty Street regarding a criminal trespass.  When officers arrived, they reported that 61-year-old Ignacio Mendosa Lara was sitting in a chair under the garage.

Because a criminal trespass warning was active, police placed Lara into custody for Criminal Trespass.  While officers were attempting to place Lara inside their marked patrol unit, they claim he resisted by using his dead body weight and placing his feet in the doorframe, preventing officers from closing the door.

Lara was ultimately transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Criminal Trespass and Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport.
