CITY OF BURTON TO ACCEPT FILINGS FOR MAY COUNCIL ELECTION STARTING IN JANUARY
The City of Burton has put out information for potential candidates in its next council election, coming up in May.
Three council seats will appear on the May 2, 2026 ballot: Position 2, held by Tommie Gilmon; Position 3, held by Jeff Eckhardt; and Position 5, held by Macey Tidwell.
The city posted a notice today (Wednesday) of the deadline to file for a spot on the ballot. Candidates can begin filing on January 14, 2026, with the last day to do so being on February 12, 2026.
Prospective candidates can find the necessary qualifications for filing on the city’s website, https://cityofburton-tx.gov.
