BRENHAM FD RESPONDS TO ACCIDENTS, REPORTS OF STRUCTURE FIRES
The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Thursday and once early this (Friday) morning.
At 11:30 a.m. Thursday, units from the Brenham Fire Department and Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the 200 block of Oak Hill Drive for a possible structure fire. They found a single-story house with nothing showing from the exterior. After inspecting the house, they advised the homeowner to have an electrician check the house out.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m., another report of a possible structure fire came in from the 2200 block of South Chappell Hill Street. Firefighters found nothing showing from a two-story structure, and they found that the HVAC system was a potential issue.
A few minutes past 5 p.m., BFD members responded to a fire alarm at the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South. Upon arrival, they determined it to be a false alarm.
Around 8:15 p.m., a crash was called in from the 500 block of West Lubbock Street. Firefighters found a two-vehicle accident and provided traffic control. No injuries were reported.
Just after midnight today, members of the Brenham Fire Department and Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department went out to a crash with possible entrapment in the 100 block of Tommelson Creek Road. Brenham units were cancelled enroute, after a Gay Hill firefighter made location and found there were no injuries or entrapment.
