LADY PANTHER BASKETBALL WINS TWO ON FIRST DAY OF NAVASOTA TOURNAMENT
The Burton Lady Panther Basketball Team stayed unbeaten with a pair of wins yesterday (Thursday) on the opening day of the Navasota Lady Rattler Shootout.
Burton opened with dominating 74-8 victory over the Wharton Lady Tigers. Aerynn Huntsman led the Panthers with 18 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, three steals, and one block.
Leilah Ellis finished with 14 points, two rebounds, one assist, and five steals.
Also reaching double digits in scoring were Amya Nickerson with 13 points, and Val Hernandez with 10 points. In addition to that, Nickerson had a rebound and a steal. Hernandez had seven assists, and four steals.

Harper Hodde - six points, two rebounds, three assists, and three steals
Mya Rodriguez - six points, two rebounds, five assists, and six steals
Isabella Young - five points, three rebounds, and two steals
Autumn Applewhite - two points, four rebounds, and one steal
Peyton Schubert - one rebound, three assists, and five steals
Later in the day, Burton would then round out their day with a 43-27 win over the Waller Lady Bulldogs.
Val Hernandez led the Lady Panthers with 11 points, three rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
Leilah Ellis chipped in with nine points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
