LADY PANTHER BASKETBALL DOMINATES HALLETTSVILLE FOR A 66-29 WIN
After a tough couple of days at the Navasota Lady Rattler Tournament on Friday and Saturday, the Burton Lady Panther Basketball Team got back on the winning track with a 66-29 victory over Hallettsville.
Burton outscored the Lady Brahmas 25-4 in the first quarter, and never looked back.
Then, Hallettsville came back to outscore the Lady Panthers 11-8 in the second quarter. However, Burton still led 33-15 at the half.
The third quarter was close as well with Burton only winning it by three points 15-12. That gave the Lady Panthers a 48-27 lead going into the fourth quarter.
During the final period, Burton blew the Lady Brahmas out 18-2 to seal the win.
Leilah Ellis led the Lady Panthers with 14 points. Aerynn Huntsman finished with 18 points and eight rebounds. Val Hernandez added 13 points and nine assists. Harper Hodde chipped in with 12 points.
The win improves Burton to 15-4 on the season.
Next up, the Lady Panthers will be on the road at Caldwell for a non-district game on Friday. The opening tipoff is scheduled for 5pm.
