CITY OF BRENHAM ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY CLOSINGS

  

In celebration of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the City of Brenham has announced their upcoming closures.  

Closures for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day include the Brenham City Hall, the Washington County Courthouse, the Brenham Municipal Court, and the Brenham Pet Adoption and Animal Services.

The Blue Bell Aquatic Center will be closing at 1pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and be closed for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The Collection/Transfer and Recycling Station will be closing at 3pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library will be closed on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They are then going to be closing at 5pm on New Year’s Eve, and be closed on New Year’s Day.

The Brenham & Washington County Visitor Center will be open on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve from 10am-3pm, and closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

There will be no residential curbside pickup on Christmas Day or New Year's Day. All routes will move forward one day after the holiday.

The City of Brenham said they know the holidays can create greater-than-usual sanitation needs. They asked residents to avoid overfilling carts during this two-week holiday period. BVR will only pick up trash placed in the carts.

In addition to that, commercial dumpster routes on each holiday will be incorporated into the routes on Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday of that week.
