CUBETTE BASKETBALL DROPS DISTRICT GAME TO MONTGOMERY 72-65
The Brenham Cubette Basketball Team was unable to overcome an early run by Montgomery in their District 17-5A matchup as the Lady Bears came away with a 72-65 win.
Montgomery led the game 19-10 after the first quarter, and also outscored the Cubettes 16-14 in the second quarter to take a 35-24 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
Both teams played to a 22-22 stalemate in the third quarter. Then, Brenham outscored Montgomery 19-15 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to make up the difference.
The Cubettes had three players reach double figures.
Abygale Adams led the way with 17 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Antyiahna Lang had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. She also finished with six assists. Carmen McWilliams also finished with a double-double. She had ten points and ten rebounds.
In addition to that, Brenham got nine points and four rebounds from Janiyah Mathis, as well as, six points and seven rebounds from Sandra Prieto.
The Cubettes are off now until December 29 when they take part in the M.T. Rice Tournament, which is being hosted by Waco Midway High School.
